With the help of Ressu PTA, the 9th graders recently enjoyed a visit to the Savoy Theatre to see Romeo & Juliet
"We went to the Savoy Theatre to see a play called Romeo and Juliet on 15th of November 2018. We got free tickets from the PTA and it was very kind of them. We went to see it, because it was connected to our upcoming unit and because it was in English. We learned a lot about the Shakespearean era. We were so glad that we got this opportunity to enjoy a theatre experience as enlightening as this.
The play itself was very good, but the staging was quite plain. During the play the actors moved around the few props there were. This is understandable, because the theatre group was on tour so it would be hard to travel with more elaborate props.
The actors were excellent and made it look like there were way more actors than there actually was.
Though at times it was a little hard to distinguish which character an actor was playing at the moment, because of the fact that the actors were playing multiple roles.
The English used in the play was old and poetic so there were words and parts that were more difficult to understand.
Lastly, we would all like to thank the Ressu Parent Teacher Association for providing us with the tickets to this wonderful play."
